Building your network marketing business is a lot like building it offline. The major difference is you can reach way more people.

It’s all about connecting with people. I think the internet, social media, in particular, has given the network marketing profession a bad name.

People have started using social media to spam their business to any and everybody. I get the friend requests on Facebook all the time, and I can’t tell you how many times I’ve accepted a request and immediately I get pitched in my inbox.

Would you just walk up to someone you don’t know on the street and just pitch them your business? Probably not, but that is exactly what a lot of people do on social networks.

Your Most Valuable Asset

Your most valuable asset is your time. You can replace material things that are lost, you can replace money, you can even replace your hair if you lose it but you can’t replace your time. Once it’s gone that’s it.

Leveraging Your Time

So when you are building your business you want to think about the best ways that you can leverage your time. When you do one on one meetings at the local coffee shop that is not a leveraged way to spend your time.

I’m not saying it’s not effective because one on one meetings do work. But here’s the thing, you are only talking to that one person may be a handful more at the most.

Once the meeting is over that’s it, nobody else will ever see that meeting again. That’s not leverage.

Creating online content now that is leverage. That is how you can free up your time. When you create videos and put them up on youtube they pretty much are there forever. When you publish blog post it stays out there forever.

I get leads from posts I’ve written months even years ago.

If you get the same questions over and over from new team members or even prospects, create a video that answers those questions. So the next time someone asks you can just point them to your video.

Online Vs Offline

One of the biggest downsides to building offline is every day you start with zero people to talk to about your business. That means every day you have to go out and hustle up some new prospects.

Don’t get me wrong building offline works. People have and still do to this day build only offline.

When you learn how to do mlm online and generate leads, you can wake up to a fresh batch of people to talk to every day. When this happens prospecting can become optional.
