How To Use Social Media
Your social media should not be used as a place to just post about your company all the time but instead, you should be providing value to your audience. Teach them something. When you learn something new, share it with them. That’s how you build an audience. Don’t look at everyone with dollar signs in your eyes but instead, come from a place of service and think how can you help them.
Let’s suppose you prospect someone and mess it all up but after the fact you learn what you should have said/done different. Make it into a teachable moment so other people won’t make the same mistakes you are making. People love it when you take them along on your journey.
No matter which social media platform you decide to use in your business, you must understand that you do not own any of them. They can close your account out at any given time. So let’s say for example you had this awesome Facebook fan page with a lot of followers. Then one day you go to log in to post something and you get a message that your account has been closed out or shutdown for whatever reason. What would you do then? How would that affect your business? Think of your social media profiles as spokes and your blog is at the center of it. That’s why it’s so important that you have a blog. That’s your home base, you own and control it. Using Twitter for Lead Generation
Twitter is fast moving social media platform. You can tweet out a message and a few seconds later it get’s pushed down from everyone else’s tweets. That’s where the strategies I talk about in the video will help keep your content in front of your audience. You don’t want to use Twitter to spam your audience but instead, you want to provide value, this can be with your videos, blog post or even motivation quotes.
