If you are just coming online and trying to figure out how in the heck do you build your network marketing business. I have some good and bad news for you, the good news is the internet, in my opinion, is a fantastic way to explode your business.

Now the bad news (not really bad news,) you are going to have to roll your sleeves up and put in some work. Anyone who promises you that you are going to get rich over-night with marketing online, run the other way. It does not work like that.

My Journey With MLM Blogging

I didn’t start blogging right away when I began to learn online marketing back in 2009 and to be honest; this was probably the biggest mistake I made. I stayed in “learning mode” far too long. I kept thinking I just needed a little more training or I will get started right after I purchased that next course.

I didn’t take blogging seriously until a few years later. I had a hang-up about how to create content. The light build moment was when someone told me to teach the day one version of myself.  I was not trying to attract the guru’s online but the beginner person who wanted to grow their mlm business online.

What Is The Purpose Of Blogging?

You might be thinking, what in the heck is the purpose of blogging and how you can blog for network marketing prospects for your business.

The main reason to blog is to generate leads for your mlm business. No leads, no business. The more people you can get in front of your company presentation, the better your chance of getting a new business partner or customer.

Blogging is also a great way to build leverage in your business. Once you publish a post it will stay out on the internet virtually forever. I get leads and sales from post I’ve written months and even years ago.

Think of your blog post as little employee’s that are out here working for you around the clock.

Build Your Marketing List

The number one to blog is to build your marketing list.

I can’t stress the importance of building your marketing list enough. It is where the money is made with online marketing. Building my list is something I should have started doing from day one. A marketing list is a collection of names and email addresses of people who have raised their hand wanting more information from you. Your list is your most valuable asset in the online world.

You should not spam your list telling them to buy all the time. Instead, send them education based emails teaching them something. A good rule of thumb to follow is the 80/20 rule. Send %80 value based emails and %20 offering them a product or service.

Aweber is a great low-cost tool to use, especially if you are just starting out to help build and manage your marketing list. This service also allows you to send out pre-written emails to everyone on your list at one time. This helps put some automation in your business. You could go away on vacation for a week and have all your emails pre-written and scheduled to go out at at certain times.

How To Come Up With Network Marketing Blog Topics

You can build your marketing list by teaching. With that being said, you might be thinking, what makes you so qualified to start teaching someone else when you are just getting started? You don’t have to be a guru to teach someone something. For example, let’s say you just went through a prospecting course and you learned a new technique.

You can quickly turn that into a piece of content. I learned a term from Ray Higdon, it is ILT or invest (your time and sometimes money), Learn and Teach. The ILT is the exact formula that I follow to come up with content. I’m always taking notes, reading books and reading other peoples blogs to come up with content to share.

You don’t have to reinvent the wheel, if you learn something new, put your spin and thoughts on it and create some content from it.

You Already Know Enough

If you have gone through just one training or learned just one thing, you already know more than the person who just came online yesterday, which is a lot of individuals. Everyday people are getting online wondering just like you are how to build a business using the internet.

The Importance Of Keyword Research

Before you create any piece of content you need to do your keyword research. There is no use in creating content if no one is searching for it on the internet. There are a couple of ways that you can find keywords. I use a couple of tools, don’t worry they are free. I won’t get to detailed on keyword research. I’ll save that for a later blog post, so make sure you subscribe in the top right-hand corner so you get notified.

My primary tools for finding keywords are Google Planner and Keywords anywhere. There are other services that cost a few bucks per month that are good alternatives as well but these are the two that I use on a daily basis.

Here are some basic keyword tips for you.

1. Make sure there are at least 100 searches per month.
2. Look for longtail keywords. Long tail keywords are usually 3 or more words. The longer the keyword the more targeted you can get.
3. Put your keyword in quotes in google to check to see how many pieces of content is out there. You want that number to be less than 100k. It will give you a better chance to rank for that keyword.

Your First Step

If you want to get serious about mlm blogging, then your very first step should be to buy you a domain name. I highly recommend you purchase your name. People will trust your name a lot of quicker versus trying to get people to trust a brand name. You can check to see if your name is available over at godaddy.com

You will need to also pick-up hosting while you are there at GoDaddy. Hosting is just like it sounds; it’s a place that host your website. If you are technical you can purchase and design your blog, but if not I highly suggest you head over to fiverr.com and let someone else do it.

Best Way  To Approach Marketing A Blog

The key to getting traffic and marketing your blog is for number one to stay consistent.  There are two ways you can build your business. Active prospecting, that is where you reach out to someone and find out if they are open to take a look at your business. This can be your warm or cold market. If you need to make money fast, prospecting is your best bet.

Then you have passive marketing, blogging is a passive form of marketing. Passive marketing is you creating a blog post or a piece of content, and hope that someone responds to it. You can’t control who responds and will take some time for you to see any results. It took me several months of putting out content to even get my first sale.

There is a syndication process that I go through every time I publish a new post.

• Share across all my social media platforms.
• Share in congruent groups on Facebook, Google+ and Linkedin
• Share in blog syndication group.
• Email it to my marketing list.

Build Your Brand And Recruit More Reps

Blogging is a great way to build your brand and authority online. Those two things are critical if you want to recruit people into your network marketing business. When start to provide content you will start to attract people who would like to know more about what you are doing and if they can work with you. This is the power of blogging.

This is the power of blogging. Cold market prospecting because a choice rather than a requirement, which makes building a network marketing business online a whole lot more fun.
