What Is A Lead
A lead is someone who has raised their hand and has expressed interest in what you have to offer. Leads can come from online or offline. You can even buy leads. Although I don’t recommend buying leads, it can be a great way to get over your phone fear (if you have any) and get better with talking to people on the phone. Building a network marketing business is going to require you to show your presentation to as many people as possible. That is why learning how to generate leads is so critical to your success.
Most network marketing companies want their new distributors to start off with their “warm list” or list of people you personally know. Nothing is wrong with this, in fact, this is how you can get your first signup or customer but what happens when you get to the end of that list? I know I ran into this exact problem myself. I pretty much beat that list to death. That’s when I turned to the internet trying to figure out how I could find more people to talk to about my business.
Free Leads Using Attraction Marketing
I came across this system that taught me about attraction marketing and how I could use it to generate all the leads I could handle for free. Attraction marketing is simply providing value to your target audience, in my case network marketers. You see you have to give people a reason to want to join you in your business. Just posting links on social media that has your company name all over it is not effective at all. If it was everyone would be top earners in their companies. Instead of blasting your company name you can talk about the benefit of your product or service without mentioning the name and have people reach out to you if they would like more information about it.
You should have a way to capture your leads information, this is called building your list. I use a service called Aweber to capture all my leads. If you don’t have any service then you could just have them email you if they wanted more information but having a way to capture their info will help keep you organized plus you can send all your leads an email at one time vs trying to email each one back.
How To Get Free Leads For Network Marketing
Blogging is the way to get the best network marketing leads in my opinion. Why? Think of every blog post that you write like little workers out here on the internet that never take a day off. They are just sitting there waiting for people to find them. I remember back when I first got started I used to hear people talk about getting leads and sales from post that were written months or even years ago and now that exact same thing is happening to me!
Having a self-hosted blog means you own it. You don’t own any of your social media accounts which means they can be shut down at any time. Your own blog can’t be shut down. If you are serious about generating leads for your network marketing business and want to start blogging I highly recommend you check out this course. It taught me pretty much everything I know about blogging.
To generate leads you need to offer them something in exchange for them to give you something. In this case their contact information. This is why knowing your target audience is so critical. You can apply this concept to just about any business or profession. My target audience is network marketers so I have the free Bootcamp on my blog that anyone can pick up for exchange for their contact information.
How Long Will It Take
Wondering how long it will take to start generating leads is the wrong mindset to have. You should be thinking I’m going to do it until. When I first got started blogging not too long ago it took around 6 months or so before I got my first sale. That’s not to say it will take you that long, there really is no set amount of time, you have to be in it for the long haul. This is with any marketing strategy path that you go down. You can’t try something for a few days or even weeks, you will probably get zero to very little results. Think long term. So what if it takes you 5 years to get results, the time is going to pass anyway and what is the alternative?
You need to be laser focused on just one strategy until you get the results you want and then you add another strategy in your workflow. Blogging was the path that I decided to use for my marketing strategy. Put all your focus on just one strategy and run with it until you get your desired results.
What To Do After You Generate The Lead
So after you’ve gotten someone to raise their hand and say they want more information what should you do? Your goal should be to get them on the telephone and connect with them. Find out where they are struggling and see if you have a solution that will help them.
Here is a line you can use to get the conversation started.
You: “Do you keep your options open when it comes to making money?”
Prospect: “Well yes, yes I do keep my options open about money.”
You: “Tell me why, why are you are open to making more money?”
Asking why is a powerful way to get your prospects to open up to you.
Most network marketers think it’s all about them when it’s not. Put the focus on your prospect, make it all about them and not you. Ask them questions.
